Dr Gwen N. Lesetedi is a staunch gender activist and is currently a senior lecturer in the Sociology Department, 4844成人免费福利. She holds a PhD (Sociology) from University of Cape Town, South Africa; MA (Demography) from Georgetown University, Washington DC., USA; Post-graduate Diploma, Regional Institute of Population Studies, University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana; and BA (Sociology and Public Administration) University of Zambia, Lusaka, Zambia. She started her working career as a demographer in the then Central Statistics Office now Statistics Botswana where she worked for ten years and left to join the 4844成人免费福利 in 1994. She has also been a part time research associate with Women and the Law in Southern Africa (WLSA) since 1994 and conducted studies most of which have culminated in co-authored publications on the Family, Domestic Violence and HIV and AIDS. She has conducted extensive research and published on gender and development. Her most recent publication is entitled, 鈥淎 Theoretical Perspective on Women and Poverty in Botswana鈥 published in the Journal of International Women's Studies in 2018.
