Brief Biography

Professor Rosaleen Oabona Brankie Nhlekisana teaches folklore and literature in the Department of African Languages and Literature, 4844成人免费福利. She has several years of experience in teaching and research on African folklore and literature and has published many high-quality journal articles and book chapters. She has also co-edited a book and co-authored another book. Her main research interests are in folklore, including but not limited to African traditional and popular songs, proverbs and oral narratives. Her other research interests are in gender studies, cultural studies, performance studies, popular culture and translation and interpretation.

Professor Nhlekisana holds a PhD (2005) in Folklore from Indiana University- Bloomington, USA, an MA (1996) in African Languages and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA and a BA (1992) in African Languages and Literature and English from the 4844成人免费福利.听 She is also a member of the Southern African Folklore Society (SAFOS), African Language Association of Southern Africa (ALASA) and African Studies Association (ASA).
