Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, 4844��Ѹ��.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: i) teach undergraduate and graduate-level economics courses ii) supervise undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. students as the need may arise; iii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research; iv) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department. Ability to teach international economics and quantitative economics at both undergraduate and graduate level will be added advantage.

Requirements: Candidates should have: i) A Doctorate in Economics or related discipline ii) At least 6 years teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; iii) An excellent cumulative and sustained record of research and publications with at least 12 pieces of research products published by recognized publishers, 8 of which should be articles in refereed/accredited journals in internationally recognized indexing databases. The remaining 4 publications could be journal articles, books, book chapters, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, etc. published by recognized publishers. An academic book may be equivalent to a maximum of 4 articles in refereed/accredited journals, depending on the quality and standing of the publisher; iv) Sustained research output: a minimum of 2 peer-reviewed publications every 3 years; v) Sustained research activity – ongoing externally supported research (e.g. funded/commissioned; vi) be lead and/or single author in at least one-third of the required refereed journal articles; vii) Publications should be spread nationally and internationally and across journals; viii) Some research impact, including but not limited to citations, the h-index, patents policy applications, peer reviews, publications that are prescribed text in other institutions, etc. ix) recognized as being of at least national research standing (e.g. reviewer of for refereed/accredited national and regional publishers); editorial board member of at least a national publisher in a relevant field; invitation keynote speaker at national and/or international conferences; x) Evidence of governance and social engagement activities).
