DUTIES: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach Business Information Systems courses at undergraduate and graduate levels; (ii) provide research supervision to students at both undergraduate and graduate level (including PhD); (iii) initiate, promote and participate in research; (v) provide academic leadership through programme development and research in collaboration with colleagues in and outside the department ; (vi) act as a mentor to junior academic staff; (vii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department; (viii) carry out any other responsibilities as and when assigned by the Head of Department. The applicant must have demonstrable capacity to teach at least three of the following courses: Decision Support Systems; Systems Analysis & Design; Management Information Systems; Strategic Information Systems; Accounting Information Systems; Marketing Information Systems; Electronic Business, Enterprise Information System, Business Web Applications, Business Intelligence & Data Analytics, Information Systems Auditing, and Information Technology in Forensic Accounting. Additionally, the applicant must be conversant with programming languages and tools such as PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, Java and Visual Basic (including VBA).

REQUIREMENTS: Candidate should have i) A minimum of PhD in any business information systems related discipline (ii) a Master’s degree in Business Information Systems or relevant discipline from a recognized university or similar institution; (iii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems or relevant discipline from a recognized institution; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research and service; (v) demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages. Twelve (12) of these must be articles in referred/accredited journals in internationally recognized indexing databases. The remaining Twelve (12) publications could be journal articles, book chapters, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, etc., published by recognized publishers; (iv) An academic book may be equivalent to a maximum of 4 articles in refereed/accredited journals, depending on the quality of standing; (v) sustained research output: a minimum of 3 peer-reviewed publications every four years; (vi) Sustained research activity: on-going externally supported research (e.g., funded/commissioned); (vii) paper/poster presentations at international conferences at least once every two years; (viii) be lead and/or single author in at least one-quarter of the required journal publications. Associate Professor: Applicants should have: (i) PhD in Accounting or related field; (ii) master’s degree in accounting or a related field; (iii) bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field with at least a 2(i) pass (CGPA of at least 3.6) or equivalent. (iv) at least 6 years’ relevant teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; a minimum of 12 pieces of research products (e.g. articles, book chapters, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, etc.) published by recognized publishers. 8 of these must be articles in referred/accredited journals in internationally recognized indexing databases. The remaining 4 publications could be journal articles, book chapters, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, etc. published by recognized publishers. The remaining 2 publications could be journal articles, book chapters, peer reviewed conference proceedings, etc., published by recognised publishers; (v) be the lead and/or single author in at least 2 journal publications, (vi) the research publications should reflect an international spread, (vii) demonstrate evidence of governance and social engagement.

VACANCY NO.: IRC 1905

The Faculty of Business invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Part-Time Lecturer in Finance.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) teach undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses; (ii) supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects; (iii) have the ability to teach at least three (3) of the following courses: Business Finance; Financial Statement Analysis; Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management; Financial Planning and Forecasting; and Financial Theory and Analysis; (iv) undertake scholarly research; (v) have an impactful engagement with the industry; and (vi) perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Candidates should: (i) have a Doctoral Degree in Finance or related field; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (ii) experience in teaching in a university or comparable institution, governance and social engagement will be added advantages, (iii) a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA) will be an added advantage.

N.B. a Master’s Degree in Finance or related field or a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA) will be an added advantage with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.

Remuneration: Remuneration: The 4844��Ѹ�� offers competitive part-time rates.

Requirements: Candidates should: (i) have a PhD in Accounting or related field; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (iii) experience in teaching in a university or comparable institution, governance and social engagement will be added advantage.

N.B. In exceptional circumstances, a holder of a Master Degree in Accounting (or related field) or a holder of a relevant professional qualification (e.g. BICA, CIMA, ACCA) may be considered provided that the candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field with at least a 2(i) pass or equivalent. The candidate must have the ability to teach at least two (2) of the following courses: Introduction to Accounting; Cost & Management Accounting; Auditing; and Taxation.
