VACANCY NO: IRC 1663

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) teach post-graduate and undergraduate level courses in Computer Science; (ii) supervise undergraduate and graduate student’s projects as need may arise; (iii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research; (iv) and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) a PhD in Computer Science or related area; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research. Evidence of governance and social engagement, (iii) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution will be added advantages.

N.B. Applicants with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6/5 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.

The Faculty provides learning and teaching in Mathematics and the Sciences based in the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Geology, Physics and Mathematics.

Research is conducted in these and related disciplines, supported by facilities that include high tech equipment such as the Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope, X-Ray Diffractometer, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Mass Spectrometers and others.

All departments offer both undergraduate and post graduate degree programmes with a significant number of students studying for the PhD degree.
