Goabilwe Nnanishie Ramaeba is a lecturer in English Language and Linguistics in the Department of English. She has many years of teaching experience at both secondary school and tertiary level, having worked as a secondary school teacher and a college lecturer. Her language skills include editing, proof-reading and translating texts. Her focus languages are Setswana and English. Her research interests are varied and include, onomastics, semantics and morphology. Although she has interests in all areas of onomastics, her main focus is on personal names, place names, literary onomastics and onomastic theory. She has published journal articles in areas of lexicography, morphology and onomastics.

Dr Ramaeba has a PhD in English Language and linguistics specialising in Onomastics from the University of Glasgow. She also holds an MA in English Language and Linguistics, a PGDE and a BA, all from the 4844³ÉÈËÃâ·Ñ¸£Àû. She is an active member of various academic bodies such as the Names Society of Southern Africa, Society for Name studies in Britain and Ireland and the International Council of Onomastic Sciences amongst others.
