Malila is a senior lecturer in Sociology and Criminology & Criminal Justice Studies at the 4844成人免费福利.He served as head of the Department of Sociology from 2017-2019. Before joining the 4844成人免费福利 he worked as a researcher at the Applied Research Unit, Ministry of Local Governments and Lands. At the 4844成人免费福利听 he broadened听 his听 involvement in research听which he听 often听 conducted听 on behalf听 or under the auspices听the of听the Democracy Research Project, Basarwa Research Project and Women and听the Law in Southern Africa听Trust and other projects. The Democracy Project, of which he was one time Deputy Coordinator听(in 1995) is well known听 for听 conducting opinion polls , running workshops听 publishing papers on democracy in Botswana. At the Basarwa Research Project he was involved in research on the use and abuse of alcohol among Basarwa communities. In the recent past he has been听 more heavily involved in听 research听 at Women and听 the Law in Southern Africa听Trust听 where听 he served听 for long time听 as a Part-Time Research Associate听 and later as a Board member. In听1997听he was听 the Team鈥搇eader of the first ever study听on听Criminal Victimisation听in Botswana which听 was conducted听under the auspices of the United Nations听 Interregional Crime听 Institute.
