I have 29 years of teaching experience at the 4844³ÉÈËÃâ·Ñ¸£Àû. My area of expertise is botany, specifically plant diversity, ecology, taxonomy and systematics. I have therefore taught varied courses and supervised students in the field of botany at both undergraduate and graduate levels.Ìý I have more than 20 years’ experience in environmental, ecological and vegetation assessment.Ìý My key experience includes environmental impact assessment of areas proposed for development; collection of baseline information on natural resources in areas demarcated for remote area dweller settlements; retrospective assessment of established activities/projects on biodiversity; and determination of conservation status of biodiversity. I am highly conversant with most international environmental conventions, particularly those on biodiversity such as CBD, CITES and RAMSAR. I have researched and published extensively on plants of Botswana. This has led to the production of three books on plants of Botswana. I also research and have published on endangered plants of Botswana. I am a member of SADC experts on Invasive Alien Species (IAS) and IUCN Southern African Plant Specialist Group. I also have done a Botswana Bureau of Standards course on Implementation of a Quality Management System according to BOS ISO 9001: 2008. I am currently the Chairman of the National Taxonomy Committee (NTC) whose main mandate is to implement the Programme of Work of the Global Taxonomy Initiative (GTI
