Dr BolelangÌý C. Pheko is a Senior Lecturer and the Head of DepartmentÌý for Educational Foundations at the 4844³ÉÈËÃâ·Ñ¸£Àû. She holdsÌýÌý a Doctor of Education (EdD) from the University of Bristol; MEd (Training and Development) from the University of Manchester; B.A (Humanities) from the 4844³ÉÈËÃâ·Ñ¸£Àû and Diploma in Secondary Education (DSE) from the 4844³ÉÈËÃâ·Ñ¸£Àû and Swaziland. Her areas of specialization and research are;Ìý educational leadership and management, training and development,Ìý educational planning, strategic management in education, educational changes and their impact on educational leadership and management, skills acquisition forÌý educational leaders and managers, effective schools, effective teaching and learning, quality education and globalization in the education sector. She has published extensively in internationally refereed journals and contributed chapters to books. She has written two reading texts.ÌýÌý She served as the Chairperson of their Board of Directors for the Botswana Housing Corporation and Moeding College. She is the former Assistant Registrar Academic Affairs. She also actively participated in the restructuring of the 4844³ÉÈËÃâ·Ñ¸£Àû’s administration
My teaching areas are around the following: introduction to management theories, leadership theories and their applications. educational planning, educational policy and national development, training and development of leaders, strategic management in education, globalization in education, change management and innovation in education
My researchÌýareas are:Ìýeducational leadership and management, training and development,Ìý educational planning, strategic management in education, educational changes and their impact on educational leadership and management, skills acquisition forÌý educational leaders and managers, effective schools, effective teaching and learning, quality education and globalization in the education sector.
Some of theÌýareas are: Instructional supervision, implementation of performance management system in Botswana’s schools, the relationship between truancy and academic performance of students, Induction for newly appointed school heads, implementation of Pastoral care policy, parental Involvement and its impact on their children’s academic performance, factors associated with Teacher Burnout, teachers’ compensation, leadership skills.
