Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post Lecturer in Counselling and Human Services in the Department of Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education.
Duties: The successful candidate is expected to: (i) teach Counselor Education courses participate in clinical counselling supervision, practicum and internship supervision (ii) provide academic leadership through the enhancement of teaching, research, professional or community service. Iii) to take an active part in supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate research projects iv) Â participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research and curriculum review; (v) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should have (i) Doctorate in any of the following areas, Counselor Education and Supervision, Counselling and Human Services, Guidance and Counselling, Mental Health Counselling, School Counselling, Counselling Psychology and Marriage and Family Counselling; ii) Master’s Degree in Counselling and Human Services or related areas with practicum and internship,  a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Guidance and Counseling or related fields and (iii) evidence of engagement in research, iv)  a relevant teaching experience at a University or comparable institution, evidence of social engagement and evidence of professional affiliation will be an added advantage.
N.B. Applicants with a Master’s degree in Counselling and Human services or related area with a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Human services, Guidance and Counselling or related field with a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 will be considered under special circumstances.
